OOPS! I DOING IT AGAIN!!!

Ever since I first completed my Bluesmobile, I started collecting proper 1974 Dodge Monaco parts in event something happened to mine while on the road.  The rational was that I drive it all over the place and something could happen unexpectedly at any time.

I didn’t want to be put in a position of having a wrecked Bluesmobile in the garage while trying to find all the parts needed to fix her.

In the close to three years I’ve managed to squirrel away enough parts to put her back together twice if needed.  I had no intention of building another Bluesmobile, if anything I thought it would be cool to build an Illinois State Police or Chicago Police Royal Monaco.

Until I found Daisy…

Daisy

Daisy is a 1977 Royal Monaco Brougham with a 360 small block upgraded with an Edelbrock intake and 4bbl carb.  The odometer reads slightly over 38k, although the previous owner had no idea if she rolled over once since he never received any paperwork when he purchased her.

Low mileage car, or super clean car with high mileage???

From the way she started up and drove down the street the moment she arrived in Chicago, I really feel that she’s a low mileage car.  There’s no squeaks, rattles, or hums anywhere on this car.  She feels super tight!

Originally an Oklahoma car, she spent all of her life there until being bought and moved to Michigan in 2011.  There she was driven sparingly and kept in storage to stay out of the incremental weather, an it shows!

Look mom, no rot!
No rot here either!
Or here!

This past spring, the previous owner ran out of space forcing Daisy to go out into the yard.  Knowing full well she survived all these years being stored indoors he couldn’t bear to see her stay outside and came to the conclusion it would be better to sell her.

Thankfully I was at the right place at the right time and was able to quickly come to terms with the previous owner.  Although it felt like it took forever for her to get her as we finalized everything around the 4th of July.

Coming off the truck!
I like big butts and I cannot lie!

The plan wasn’t immediately to get her home and turn her into a Bluesmobile.  I was going to keep her stock, but then I remembered I don’t like my cars stock.  Then I was going to do the ISP or CPD replica, but the interior color is all wrong for either of those replicas.  Illinois State Police used green interiors, while Chicago Police had blue.

But alas… Daisy has factory tan / gold interior…

Factory gold

You know what else has tan / gold interior???

BLUESMOBILES!!!!!

Trunk light works…

So here we are! A super solid Royal Monaco and enough 1974 specific parts to build her into a proper Bluesmobile.  Once again I will be doing all the work myself and fully documenting the build here on my blog.

But that’s not even the best part.  The best part is that this magnificent example of classic Detroit steel will be available for sale after the conversion!!!  That’s right! I will not be keeping this Bluesmobile!

If you’re in the market for a Bluesmobile and don’t mind waiting a few months, contact me.  We can work out a nice deal!
