Mount Prospect Lions Club BluesMobile Cruise Nights 09/15/2018

Being the middle of September and we are still enjoying 80 plus degree weather in Chicago, I decided to drop by my favorite cruise night in all of Chicago, the Mount Prospect Lions Club BluesMobile Cruise Nights!

Week in and week out they put on a great show, including live entertainment and a wide variety of cars!

The past weekends cruise night happened to be ’70s and ’80s night, which I’m partial to since it is my generation.  While there was still a strong showing of cars from all generations, it was great to see so many cars you usually DON’T SEE!

I’m going to try and make as many remaining shows as my schedule allows, I suggest you do the same too!

They always give me a great parking spot at the show!
Tonight Only Jake and Elwood Blues
Who’s the U-Boat Captain?
Beautiful Buick! ’59 I believe.
’74 Monte Carlo. I had a ’73 myself at one time.
80’s Z28 drag car
Our live entertainment for the evening.
’70 442 Convertible.
’87 Monte Carlo SS
This gentleman is certainly enjoying his evening!
Black beauty of a Pontiac Ventura
Slightly Supercharged TA
When’s the last time you saw an ’87 XR7 in this condition???
Original owner car to boot!
F100 Ranger. I have a soft spot for ’70s green.
’68 442 with under the bumper Ram-Air
Beautiful brandy wine color.
Late ’70s early 80s Malibu.
Plastic Fantastic!
First Gen Fox Body Mustang
A Grand National? So what.
Wow! Don’t see many ’84 Grand Nationals out there!
AMC Hornet based AMX in all of its Red, White, and Blue Glory!!!
’74 or ’75 Cutlass
When’s the last time you saw a first generation Grand Am?
Love the Nascar inspired hood.
The ’70s was a very patriotic decade.
I love this color. I don’t think the picture does it justice. I also don’t think that this is a Chevy color. Reminds me more of a Cadillac color, but I could be wrong.
An Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser! That’s why kids in the 80’s didn’t need to rent a cheap motel room for the night!!!
By far one of my favorite Pontiac’s, the 1986 Grand Prix 2+2
In all of it’s Aerocoupe Glory!
Not a bad way to enjoy some open air driving, while making sure you’re covered in case it rains!
Those Louvers!
I honestly can’t tell you if I have ever saw a t-top roofed LTD! I know I’ve seen T-Birds of this generation. Probably very rare car.
Cool ass Bonneville wagon. I wish the United States would fall in love with station wagons again. So much cooler than SUV’s.
’72 Hurst Olds Indy 500 Track Car!
